Description

The StoneWall kit includes an egress area well, window and all the other elements needed to create a safe, secondary means of escape from your finished basement.


Compliant to the 2021 International Residential Code (IRC), this easy-to-install kit also adds the lovely, natural look of stone to your finished basement while letting in fresh air and sunlight to keep the space from getting dark and musty.


The kit includes:


  • Area Well - Made from corrugated galvanized steel for strength, the well imitates the look of stone with a printed film vinyl overlay. Available in a 42" W, the narrowest width available that meets code requirements and 3 height options.

  • Window – This dual action single-hung window swings in easily for fast exits. Made from low-E, double-paned glass in a vinyl frame for a very energy efficient U-value of .29.

  • Ladder – The Life Step escape ladder is made from durable, galvanized steel with easy-to-grip rungs and handholds.

  • Well Cover: This heavy-duty cover will protect your well and window from water, dirt and accidental fall-ins. Made from UV-protected clear polycarbonate in a steel frame, no assembly required.

Everything you need comes with the kit. Only complaint is why the window doesn't come as new construction nailing fins. It comes as a window replacement which is baffling to me. Over all great quality but the lack of nailing fins was kinda a big turn off. I'd buy again if they can promise me new construction windows.
Owner Response: Hi Don, Thank you for your review and input. There is a reason why we offer the windows as a retro-fit, rather than a new construction window with nailing fins. The vast majority of our customer's projects, are indeed retro fit situation and not new construction. (We also do offer specific New Construction Kits that have a pour in place window bucks - https://www.egresswindows.com/product/Easy-Egress-Kit-New-White/egress-window-kits) And, by not having nailing fins, you are afforded much more flexibility on where to set the window withing the thickness of the foundation. Some customers want the window closer to the inside of the room, which makes reaching the window from inside the room easier. That would not be possible if there were nailing fins.
